Ottati is a medieval country; it is dominated on the North side from a cliff that protects him from the rigors of winter climate and is located midway between Castelcivita and Corleto Manforte, extreme slopes along the rocky mountain alburnina.
Ottati is part of Mountain Community Alburni and its common entirely within the perimeter of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano.
The territory is largely made up of mountains rich in forests, the hilly area is located downstream from the town. There are also considerable superficial phenomena of karst, consisting of dolines and furrowed fields, while many underground and great value are the caves (Grave of Gatti, Conca of Rupistella, Grava Sarrauto).
In the western chain of Alburni the western boundary of the territory Municipal Ottati stands the hill Civita. To the south - east of the hill you can see sections of walls consist of irregularly shaped stones, held together by mortar of lime, sand and gravel river within this probable urban fabric, there are many heaps of stones, having regular shape up small and medium-sized buildings. Currently, you can see the building known as "prison", built in more recent times compared to other buildings and, on top of the hill, inside the walls, the church of S. Mary.
Particularly interesting is the feast of St. Antonio June 13, July 8 while they celebrate St. Blaise patron of the country. To remember is the characteristic of the "Corsa Campestre Cordoneto" (race) held on August 16.
